You don’t need to have an official Golf Handicap or be a member at a
golf club, a Society Golf Handicap will be provided

in 1935 Ashby Decoy Golf Club was originally a farm estate and over the years
has been developed into a course known locally as one of the best around.
Located just outside Scunthorpe and within 2 miles of the M181, the absence of
hills makes Ashby Decoy Golf Club a fine choice for all abilities, however,

Nestled in picturesque parkland just outside York, this
parkland course lies amidst attractive countryside in the heart of the Forest
of Galtres from which it takes its name. Several of the holes provide stunning
views over the surrounding area, with York Mister being visible from the
seventh green. Mature oak trees and several instances where water comes into
play make this a test for golfers of all abilities. 6,534

Barnsley Golf Course offers terrific
views, with well-groomed fairways and some of the trickiest and undulating
putting surfaces in Yorkshire keep the
course difficult yet friendly. At 6005 yards in total the course is not too
demanding for the more sage golfers or the shorter hitters but rewards both the
cautious and adventurous ball strikers alike.

Saddleworth Golf Club originally formed as a 9 hole course
in 1904 was recreated as an 18 hole course in 1913 by Dr Alister MacKenzie. The
course has matured and flourished over the years into the course it is today
and considered the best in the area. There could arguably be quite a few
signature holes but there has to be a special mention to the 14th where Peter

Harwood Golf Club is
situated on the edge of the West Pennine Moors, with superb views of the
surrounding countryside where fantastic golf awaits you. Founded in 1926 by
four local shopkeepers originally designed as a 9-hole course, Harwood Golf
Club was extended to the full length 18-hole layout in 1998 and has undergone

Country Club consists of two excellent parkland layouts with an abundance of
water hazards offering 36 challenging holes of golf against a stunning

hazards including hedgerows which line the fairways, undulating fairways, large
greens, water features and strategically placed bunkers. A peninsula in the
middle of the lake is the home of the 11th tee,. The Championship Course
having undergone a major redesign in 1997, now lives up to its big sister
course. With subtle borrows and daunting oak trees which tend to line the plush

Located on the
outskirts of Bradford at its current location since 1917, well-groomed fairways
and greens keep South Bradford Golf Club difficult yet friendly. There are many
natural hazards to negotiate around the course, and the par-3s are perhaps the

The Oaks **** Captain’s

The Oaks has matured into one of the best golf courses in the area playing
host to many county and national golf tournaments. With 7 lakes and over 50
bunkers the well-groomed winding tree lined fairways and excellent greens
produce a first class mature parkland course. The course offers a good but fair

a picturesque parkland gem just a stone's throw from Manchester's bustling city
centre. With its undulating course, the scenery is idyllic with breathtaking
views, especially from the 12th tee, where the whole of the course can be seen.
The River Medlock is featured on six of the holes as it meanders through the

9 holes, lunch, 18 holes then two course evening meal. Smart casual wear is
acceptable at all events unless otherwise notified. £50 Deposit is required to
secure a place for the overnight trip, and notification of intent to attend for
all the others.
Please note, most events will be subsidised
from the price shown for members of the Golf Society. No subsidy is available
for Guests. Any Guests or Lapsed Members that have attended
our events previously and wish to join the Society can do so when they attend
an event. Any Guests that have not attended an event previously cannot
immediately join the Society, however they can register and will be eligible to
be a member at their next event.
At each event there will be an additional charge of £1 towards a 2’s pot.
This will be shared between any players who score a 2 in the 18 hole
competition event. If there is no 2 scored, the pot will roll over to the next
event.
